TVS Jupiter CNG Scooter with 226 Km Range and Big Savings

TVS is preparing to shake things up with a scooter that could completely change the way we think about daily commuting. The TVS Jupiter CNG, revealed as a concept at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025, is gearing up to launch as the world’s first scooter powered by CNG. As someone who spends a lot of time riding through packed city streets, the thought of saving big on fuel without giving up convenience immediately caught my attention.

A Scooter with Two Personalities

What makes the Jupiter CNG special is its bi-fuel setup. You can switch between CNG and petrol, which means no more worrying about running out of gas in the middle of traffic. The CNG tank sits neatly under the seat, while the petrol tank has been tucked into the floorboard. It’s a clever design, though I can already imagine missing the usual big storage space under the seat.

Mileage That Feels Almost Unreal

Here’s where things get exciting. The Jupiter CNG promises a fuel efficiency of 84 km for every kilogram of CNG. Pair that with a full petrol tank, and you’re looking at a range of around 226 km. To put that in perspective, that’s several days of city commuting without stopping at a pump. For anyone tired of rising petrol prices, that kind of saving isn’t just impressive, it feels like a relief.

What to Expect at Launch

The Jupiter CNG is expected to arrive in October 2025, with TVS positioning it in the ₹90,000 to ₹1,00,000 ex-showroom price bracket. Powering it is a 124.8cc single-cylinder engine producing 7.2 PS and 9.4 Nm of torque, enough for a steady 80 kmph cruise. The design will feel familiar to Jupiter riders, complete with LED headlights, a semi-digital console, and even a USB charger for phones.

The only trade-off? That under-seat CNG tank means storage space takes a hit. But with fuel savings this big and the promise of cleaner, greener rides, it feels like a compromise many riders including me would happily make.
