Toyota Fortuner 2025 India Launch – Design, Features and Price

The Toyota Fortuner has always been that SUV you notice instantly on the road. It looks big, it feels powerful, and for many of us, it has been the dream family SUV. Now, with the 2025 Fortuner, Toyota has taken things a step further by adding a new mild-hybrid system, a few smart design tweaks and premium features that make it more exciting than ever.

Engine and Performance: Smooth Yet Powerful

When I first read about the new Neo Drive 48V mild-hybrid system, I was curious about how it would change the driving feel. On paper, the familiar 2.8L turbo-diesel engine still makes 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque. But the mild-hybrid tech adds that little extra touch.

Imagine driving in city traffic and instead of the usual diesel grunt, you feel this smooth torque push at low speeds. That’s the hybrid assist working in the background. It also helps the Fortuner sip less fuel, with Toyota claiming up to 14.6 kmpl on the diesel automatic. And the best part is that it hasn’t lost its 4×4 strength. It is still ready to climb hills, wade through water or take on rough tracks without hesitation.

Seating and Comfort: Built for Families

Step inside and the Fortuner feels like a proper 7-seater. The front seats are wide and supportive, and in higher trims you get ventilation and power adjustment that makes long trips much more relaxing. The second row slides and reclines, giving passengers the choice between stretching out or making space for the third row. Speaking of which, the third row works best for kids or shorter trips, but when folded down the boot turns into a massive space for luggage.

Design and Features: Premium Yet Familiar

From the outside, the Fortuner’s new grille, sharper LED projector headlamps and new alloy wheels give it a refreshed look without losing its bold identity. Inside, it feels more premium with leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control and practical tech upgrades like 360-degree camera, wireless charging and a digital instrument cluster that keeps the driver more connected.

Price and Position

The mild-hybrid Fortuner is priced at ₹44.72 Lakh to ₹52.34 Lakh for the top-end GR-S variant. Yes, it’s pricey but the Fortuner has always been worth the premium for what it is, reliability, presence and can take on anything India’s roads have to offer.
