I can still remember my first ride on a Honda Activa many years ago. The silent motor, the comfort and the way it glided through city roads was unforgettable. Now Honda has taken that same trusted name into the electric world with the Honda Activa Electric.
The scooter was launched on January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Expo, and I have to admit, seeing the Activa badge on an EV feels like a new beginning. It’s not just old memories, the Activa Electric brings ease of use, smart features and a dash of fun for daily riders.
A Familiar Face with a Modern Soul
From outside, it still resembles the Activa everyone is familiar with. But step closer and you’ll see the sharper all-LED lights and a clean futuristic look. Sitting on it, the first thing that caught my eye was the instrument panel. The standard model gets a 5-inch screen, while the RoadSync Duo variant gets a 7-inch TFT with navigation, calls and messages. It feels like a small smartphone tucked into the scooter.

Performance That Feels Effortless
The Honda Activa Electric comes with a 6 kW motor and two easily swappable 1.5 kWh batteries. There’s something nice about the idea of swapping batteries in minutes instead of waiting hours for a charge. On paper you get 102 km range, 80 km/h top speed and 0-60 in just over 7 seconds. For a scooter meant for city use, that’s more than enough to leave you smiling at traffic lights.
Living with the Activa Electric
Of course not everything is perfect. The under-seat storage takes a hit because of the batteries and right now the swapping stations are limited to big cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. But Honda’s “Battery as a Service” subscription makes ownership less scary, no worries about battery wear or costly replacements.
